Sigma Tel lost function

I lost my SigmaTelAudio (Inspiron 8600) function after doing regedit of "DisableMicFromPlayback", "EnablePoPBypass" and "DisableMicSelect" (make enable mic input to be heard in laptop speaker). I don't know if any link the problem with the new setting above. I think the problem get into hardware level as I installed a new Windows (hope it gonna working like normal as before) but still the card couldn't produce the sound. I've diagnosted the hardware with Dell Diagnostics & Utilities CD and found error in Analog Sound Playback Test (error code: 1B22:061B) and Record and Playback Test (error code: 1B22:071B).

Any body can help me please!

Yes, the card is detected by Win but can't produce the sound as all media playera work properly but without the sound.

If I can jump in here, b, I'd like to point out that those error codes just mean that when the test asked if the user could hear the sounds, the user replied no.

Limbert, if you tried the test both with and without headphones and it did fail, that means you have a hardware failure somewhere in your audio system, unrelated to Windows or the Registry. Usually that means you will need to add an external soundcard to get audio back. I suggest you run the test one more time to confirm the results. This time wiggle the headphone jack a little during the test and see if you can hear anything.

Thanks Jim for your suggestion. But now I'm having a problem with external audio card which I bought Sound Blaster Audigy 2 AZ PCMCIA. The card but doesn't work in my Inspiron 8600. The "Add New Hardware" doesn't recognise the card and even the CD Instalation itself can't detect the card plug properly. Should any up-grade system software installed? I have up-dated the newest Inspiron BIOS but what else should I do? Please your help for this matter or any body can help me?
Thx!
