Some Hard Disk Problems
Hello, Umer here. I bought my Dell laptop Inspiron N5110 from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Then I was living there. My Dell machine has 3 years warranty. It started showing some hard disk problems and kept prompting me to get it checked. So I got it checked via Dell PC Diagnostics. Following are the results which I obtained: Scan Results: Model: Inspiron N5110 Operating System: Microsoft WIndows 7 Home Premium Edition (64-bits) Service Tag:

Diagnostic ID: 3XJ1SP110062012170327 Problems: Hard Disk Driver : WDC WD6400BPVT-75HHXZT1 Tests Failed: SMART Status Test (says that hard disk is working outside normal parameters and might need to be changed.) SMART Threshold Test (says that there might be a hardware fault in the hard disk and might need repairing.) SMART Short Self Test (says that there might be a hardware fault in the hard disk and might need repairing.) SMART Read Test (says that hard disk is working outside normal parameters and might need to be changed.) It is mentioned that this might be covered under Warranty. It's been one year out of three. The thing is, since I'm in Pakistan, How can I get Dell's Technical Support and avail this warranty? I can be contacted on Email id removed per privacy policy>. Please Help!

Normally, if Dell has a corporate presence, you can transfer the warranty - they don't in Pakistan, so your warranty likely won't cover service there. You can try a Dell reseller, but it's likely they'll charge you for repair. For warranty service the system will have to go back to the country where it was purchased.
