Some Problems with XPS M1330
Had my XPS M1330 for 7 months and all was going well until the CD/DVD drive stopped some CD's and DVD's.
now this wasn't old or damaged disc's it could be old or just out the box and it wouldn't get read, i called the XPS help line and after 45 Min's on a call (nightmare) i was told that as the laptop worked fine when it was sent out from the factory, what a joke so much for warranty!!! anyone had same issue and any fixes.
other thing that I've just noticed is that my graphics performance has deteriorated big time in last few weeks. even doing the latest driver update seems to make it worse.
anyone had joy with latest Nvidia dell drivers???
cheers

I installed the latest Dell-provided nVidia drivers as soon as they came out but had problems resuming from sleep mode. The display blacked out and the computer didn't react to any key inputs, forcing me to shut it down manually and restart. So I went back to a Norton Ghost image prior to the install and tried the following:
- uninstalled the nVidia drivers via the Control Panel (Programs)
- restarted the computer in safe mode and used driver cleaner to delete any remaining nVidia registry entries and files
- restarted in normal mode and installed the new nVidia drivers from Dell
- disabled TMM in the Task Scheduler (for some reason this task had been restored in the meantime, but I'm not sure if it was due to the driver installation). You need to disable TMM if you're having a problem resuming from sleep mode.
Now everything seems to be working fine and the computer hasn't blacked out upon resuming yet.
