Sprint embedded EVDO card

I have enjoyed using my embedded sprint card with my Dell m1330.  If I purchase one of the USB Sprint EVDO modems, can I easily transfer my current account to the new modem so that I can use it with both my Dell and another laptop that I own?  Do I have to go through the Sprint store or can it all be done online?

I did mine oneline converting an external card to my internal EVDO card in my M1330.  It was tricky and finding the right spot at Sprint is no fun.

I suggest going to a Sprint Store or calling.

I also converted.  I had to call sprint, they deactivated the usb and activated the internal card.  I was told that i would have to activate the usb with another number, that is pay for two subscriptions to use both.  I sold the usb to my sister and she activated the usb on her HP and on her sprint account.  From what i gather you can use the same usb card on different machines as long as the right software is installed for the card on each machine.  I also like the gps receiver function on these cards.  They will work with most map programs.

So it sounds like both of you went from a USB to an internal card?  I was looking to go from an internal to a USB to use on both my laptops.  Is there an advantage in keeping with my internal card?  Did I understand you correctly when you said the card also supports GPS?  I'll call Sprint or go to a store first,  but I wanted to know for sure if they would allow me to activate a USB modem and deactivate my internal without any penalties or changes to my current plan (especially since I got lucky in getting the unlimited plan before they changed it to the 5 GB cap).:smileywink:

most of the time, sprint charges for everything. It should not affect your plan, they may charge you for the activation and deactivation.  i think they all have gps functionality.  On my card i had to go into the registry and change a value. Now gps shows up and works with my map program.

i will look it up and report back. I searched on this forum for gps on sprint internal card.  there is a post for explanation.  I do know the location is different on x32 and x64 versions.
