'Stalling' while turning the computer on

Question

Hey All, I've noticed that my Inspiron 4100 isn't always the most reliable when turning on.  Many times I have to hold the power button down for several (i.e., >40) secs before the computer will finally turn on.  Sometimes it doesn't at all unless I release and press/hold the button down for several seconds again. Anyone else encounter this problem?  Anyone have any suggestions?   Thanks in advance! A
