start up issues - hardware problem - computer wont boot up in any mode
hi my laptop looks like it has a massive problem. i have been on various forums for advice but unable to solve - this is the problem - * it turns on & I CAN get into advanced menus * it will not repair itself no matter what with system repair - it wont run - i cannot access safe mode or system repair - just leads me back to black screen no othervinstructions appear * it will not go into any other modes , safe Etc....therefore I cannot restore to factory settings etc.... * ive Tried all tricks such as F8, F12 control & F11 etc..... to get into advanced menu settings - all lead to the black screen * everything i click on\ enter leads to a black screen - only a white curser appears. * only load up screen with Dell logo appears * the screen / graphics etc is fine * is it a hardware/disc drive issue - is it corrupted ?? its as if there is no way of accessing the computer disc/ hard drive in anyway from boot up. there is clearly a hardware problem but i cannot access anything internal beyond ordinary & advanced menus i just keep being led to the black screen & no activity. the menus work & that is all. installation disc wont run & wont boot computer i run Windows 7 on a Dell inspiron 1564 HELP HELP HELP !!!!!! You can also release flea power and run hardware diagnostics in the system to check the hardware is working as designed. Follow the steps below.
Switch off the system; remove the battery, ac adapter and the power cable. Press and hold down the power button for thirty seconds to drain any excess flea power and run the test. Please run the PSA hardware diagnostics to check if the hardware is working as designed. Follow the steps below.
Turn the computer off >restart the computer
At the Dell logo screen, start tapping the F12 key a few times until you see the ‘One Time Boot Menu’ appear.
At the one time boot menu, press the down arrow key to highlight ‘Diagnostic’, and then press Enter to begin the PSA diagnostics.
If the test fails, please make a note of any error codes listed. You can also refer to the link below.
