Startech ec1pecps parallel port adapter
I am trying to to install a startech ec1pecps parallel port adapter on my dell inspiron 9400 laptop, running XP. This is the adapter recommended by Dell.
The device manager shows the new port lpt3 as installed, but says "cannot start device, error 10." I have tried downloading new drivers and tried fixes suggested by other forums but with no success.
Can anyone help?

Hi,
Welcome to the Community. I did some research and found this www.skf.com/.../892730.pdf, check page 5 of 6, it could be that, but not very sure as that article is for Windows 7. Did you try uninstalling the existing driver, and reinstalling it from the below link under Drivers and Downloads section?

Did you try uninstalling the driver, and download the driver from the manufacturer's website?

Thanks, I tried all the recommended fixes without success. I did remember that the laptop has had xp reloaded, so suspect that the express drive driver may need to be reloaded. I will be trying that soon. Cheers GS
