Studio 1537 Notebook System Software installation GRRRRRRRRR!!!
Christ, what a PAIN! For THREE HOURS I ahve been trying to do something so simple as update the drivers on my notebook, and I feel like I'm chasing my tail.
I did my own Windows 7 clean install upgrade, and everything is working fine excpet audio. I'm being told I need to update audio drivers for Win 7. Fine. BUT before I can download the driver files, I need to get the Notebook System Software. I follow the bouncing ball, click on "Download" and it wants to open the download manager, which has been installed, but then when it opens, it says there are no files; choose files and start again. I have done this several times and I cannot get the download manager to open and download the files, then to install.
What a gargantuan pain and a complete waste of my afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't use the download manager. Use Firefox (NOT IE) and choose "download using my browser".

Where is that option? I saw it once but I haven't seen it again in the subsequent attempts to download.

If you've selected the download manager, a cookie is set that remembers that. Dump your cookie cache (or at least those for dell.com) and go back in - you'll see the option again.
