Studio 1555 - cannot get to safe mode
I have a Studio 1555 with a Security Suite virus. I need to boot up in safe mode. I have tried many times hitting F8 repeatedly and also trying with Fn F8. It will NOT go to safe mode. I goes straight into Windows. Help!

My Dell Studio 15 shows the F2 and F12 options at startup. I also have difficulty getting to safe mode. I finally was successful by holding down the F8 key rather than repeatedly pressing it. It eventually caused an annoying sound and I let up on the F8 key and it put me into safe mode. You do not need to use the Fn key.

I did a little more experimentation on this and found that I can get into safe mode every time. You can start pressing the F8 key repeatedly at anytime but when it really is needed is immediately AFTER the F2 and F12 options disappear from the screen. If I wait until they disappear and immediately start pressing the F8 key repeatedly it works every time.
