Studio 1735 Mousepad

I had to replace the Studio HDD and decided to upgrade to Win 7 from Vista at the same time. One unforeseen consequence was the loss of any control over the ALPS Mouse/Touchpad.  ALPS did not provide an updated driver/control module for Win 7 devices and would appear to have no intention of doing so. As I have always found the device a bit of a nuisance the mousepad has generally been totally desensitised to eliminate the tap function amongst other things. If anyone has  solution or an idea of how to disable all or any of the device functions short of retro-installing Vista I will be eternally grateful.

Thanx

Hi,

Welcome to the community.

I would recommend you to update BIOS and Chipset Driver of the laptop. Please click the link below which will take you to the driver’s website http://dell.to/Qnizfs. Enter the Service Tag of the computer and choose the Operating System installed on the computer. Please update the latest version of BIOS available.

Restart the computer and check if the touchpad works fine. In case it does not, you can also update the driver from the link below:

Please keep me posted with the result.

Thanks & Regards
