Hi. I got my Studio 1735 around the same time you got yours and my touch-sensitive media keys don't work properly either. I've tried contacting Dell via email but they said it wasn't customer service's problem and (understandably) told me to call tech support, wich I did....but I can never get through. I'm always on hold for an hour before I give up. Anyways.... My problem is a little different than yours. On boot-up, either cold or from standby, the media keys go through the lighting sequence that I assumer they're supposed to (each key briefly illuiminates left to right and then back again) but the |<< key stays lit and the entire row becomes locked/useless. The media keys all worked fine for a short while after I got the laptop but then started misbehaving someties, then all the time. Weird, I know. I've downloaded drivers from dell.ca/support but I'm already using the most up-to-date driver.

All of these problems were fixed by draining the flea power.
Switch of the computer, take out the power lead and any other devices plugged in.
Take the battery out, and press and hold the on switch for 5 seconds or more.
Put the battery back in and you should be up and running again.
I was having this exact same problem, and following the instructions stupido 1735 posted above worked perfectly. Thank you so much!

Hi
I've run into the same issue, and I found out that the Dell Quickset application was called when using the volume touch keys. I've uninstalled the application, and everything is working fine since then

Hello,
My dvd control buttons stopped working too, I didn't think the volume ones were working, but neither was eject. I ended up with two dvds in the slot.
Some of the keys didnt seem to work properly either. You had to really press them from right on top of the key.
The touch pad then stopped working, both the mouse pointer and both buttons.
All of these problems were fixed by draining the flea power.
Switch of the computer, take out the power lead and any other devices plugged in.
Take the battery out, and press and hold the on switch for 5 seconds or more.
Put the battery back in and you should be up and running again.
All of the above functions worked for me after doing that.
Check the link, but tells you just the same as above

Problems occured on Studio 1735
Hope it helps.
