svchost.exe memory module error

Question

My new Inspiron 9400 gives me error messages intermittently on shut down and restart concerning svchost.exe not locating data in specific memory modules.  Using XP with all the latest patches.  Generally I get two such messages, one after the other.  Clicking 'ok' on the message boxes enables shutdown and restart to proceed.  Is there something wrong with my RAM?

possibly its a virus. you can try to fix that by using another computer an going to support.microsoft.com, mcafee.com, or norton.com for more information.
