Synaptics features missing from Studio 1558 touchpad
I've owned several Dell Laptops, and they've all used "Synaptics" drivers for their touchpads, including my current two - an XPS 17 and a Studio 1558
Problem is, I cannot get any of the important Synaptics features on the touchpad in my Studio 1558 (like the TAP ZONES and gliding and other Synaptics advanced features).
Even though the Device Manager shows that my Dell Touchpad in my Studio 1558 is using Synaptics drivers, they're definitely not the ones that provide all of the important features like the touchpad on my XPS 17.
I've tried the drivers from http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers and they don't install properly / says they're "corrupt".
So basically I'm stuck extremely basic touchpad functionality and Dell's anemic "Dell Touchpad" software for the settings.
Can anyone please tell me if they've had any success in getting their Studio 1558 touchpad to use the full Synaptics feature set?
Any information would be a huge help, thank you!

Not a single one, and Dell doesn't care enough to assist with it.
