unable to change boot sequence

Question

I am trying to re-formatt hardrive. However, i am unable to change the boot sequence(to boot from winxp cd) in the setup of the bios. I try to change from the hd with the change arrows but nothing occurs.
any thoughts on why i can't make the change?

easier method is to press F12 at startup & use the one off boot menu.

He may not have that option available; not all models or BIOS versions do. He probably has an Admin Password set/Configure Setup Disabled, and that is preventing his resetting the boot order. Do you know the Admin Password?
