I finally cancelled the order as when I called them they were still stating that my credit card provider had not sent authorisation. Whilst with Dell on chat I called credit card and they stated not a problem, had been authorised days ago! Told chat who then stated "ah yes, it is now authorised".
He then went on to offer me another free printer, I had ordered one so that was void or a $50 dollar voucher to be used on the website. Not being funny, I explained that after this experience I doubt if I'd ever be back to oder again.
Yesterday I go a personal email from "fred" who had just happened to notice that I had cancelled my order, he offered me (for 24 hours only) a "special" offer made just for me, using the same criteria that I had built the laptop I wanted, for a once only price that was $200 ABOVE the price I initially got!!
Well, I just had to turn that one down too.
Funny that NOBODY has mentioned the fact that part of my original complaint was me being forwarded by a Dell rep to an adult chat line! They're ignoring that one.
Then I went to Buy.com. Got the same laptop for $999 to be delivered this monday. Eh what! Someone is doing their job properly, I couldn't turn that offer down now could I. Especially as the laptop is for my son's schoolwork as he is a special needs child.
Simple go out to a PC store and buy a notebook. Dell is getting worse and worse, IMHO, everyday. They just don't care about the customer anymore. Not one bit.
If buy chance the one you ordered from Dell shows up just return to send without ever opening the box and dispute any charges with your credit card company
I'm now getting the picture re Dell. Unfortunately I can't just pop out to a shop to buy one as I live in the caribbean and don't have those facilities here. Hence my going to Dell in the first place.
Its bad enough waiting for normal delivery but we add on 3/4 days here as once it gets to Miami it has to be flown down which I pay for.
I do hope the other one doesn't turn up as I'll have to pay shipping on that there and back too.
Thanks for the comments, I was beginning to think that this forum was full of Dell workers!

No replies, not a shock.
