Same issue here................ was told by rep through chat that i would have to putchase $99 dollar support to get driver........ %^&%^%** not gonna happen. Way i see it intel improves ther process and dells sell that to you................ I had some respect for Dell but it is now lost

Thanks but the ones on the dell site are not the latest drivers.  I like to update my video drivers regularly.

I am going to try and find a way around it,  I want the latest drivers and dell doesn't have them.  I don't feel we should have to pay for them either they are free on the intel site.

I download the latest and greatest drivers directly from the vendor.  If I try to install them the normal way I get the old device not found error message, as you already discovered.

What I do is download the drivers to a temp folder and then select the update driver option. I tell Windows not to search for the new drivers but I use the browse function to point to the temp directory where they are.  I've never had a problem updating drivers this way.

The drivers from Nvidia are specifically designed NOT to work with Dell equipment.  Dell has decided they will determine what drivers you can and can not run on your PC.  You can go to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ and get better drivers.  Dell's drivers are a generation behind.  Oh and if you have one of the GeForce 7800s, your card is clocked at HALF of the speed it should be running at.

Who said anything about nVidia?  I have an ATI Radeon in my i8100. The latest drivers from the ATI website work just fine.

Tried the omega drivers? They are made to work with mobility cards as well.

And I thought that the drivers off the ATI website didnt support mobility cards (i.e. cards in notebooks) ? Or is that just my imagination?

This had nothing to do with the video drivers in question...................looks like propaganda spam at work to me.........

When I went to the ATI website and searched for  ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 it pulled up a driver link for that card. I downloaded it last year and it's been running fine so far.

I'll never buy another ATI graphics card or a computer with an ATI card in it due to a rebate scam involving a free copy of Halflife 2 but that's another story.
