USB 2.0

I have an Inspiron 4150 and am hoping that I have a USB 2.0 port, but if I don't, can someone tell me what I do have so I can connect my iPod?  Thank you!

you should be able to still connect your ipod to your present port but only expect usb1.1 speed.
you'll also get a warning bubble when you connect any usb2 device to your usb port but it's not detrimental to the device operation so just ignore it.

I'm almost sure the 4150 has only a USB 1.1 POrt, but an USB 2.0 device will work in it, but slower.

they didn't upgrade the laptops to USB 2 until about august or september of 2003.  I may be off a month or so but that's close.

Does the 4150 have a firewire port? If so you can just use the little adaptor for 4 pin ports that came with it to hook up the iPod to your laptop.

The 4150 has only a USB 1.1 and no firewire.  I have a USB 2.0 PC Card that I added for ~$30 that gets me USB 2.0 performance when I need it.

Firewire, I'd get firewire if I were you.
