USB 3 Issues Dell M6600
Hi All
I've been struggling to get an external USB 3 Display Adapter (Sunix VGA 2718) working on my Dell M6600. The problem seems to be related to the USB 3 ports not working. I've read in various posts about issues related to the USB 3 ports and the Renesas USB 3.0 controller. I've made sure that I have all the latest drivers including the BIOS updates installed but still the adapter is not working. It works fine on the USB 2.0 ports but the performance is very bad. It also worked briefly on one of the USB 3.0 ports with good performance but after a while it froze and I've been unable to get it working since then.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi, sorry I didn't find your message sooner...
I've had continuous problems with my USB dirvers with my M6600 running under Win 7 64 bit since about October. It ran fine for a couple months but starting in the Oct or so I get non-stop popup messages all day long saying there's a problem with an unidentified USB port. To make matters worse, my ports aren't working with an external USB hard drive either, so there really is a hardware or driver problem. I've tried disabling and uninstalling all my USB ports in Windows Device Manager and reinstalling Dell drivers by download but that hasn't cleaned up my issue yet. In fact, when I reinstall drivers it reports two unidentified USB ports were not installed, although I have no devices of course attached to any USB ports.
Since it worked OK for a while and the problem popped up later I figure it is due to some conflict with another Dell upgrade I made. I always download the latest Dell drivers and BIOS on a regular basis.
What is maddening is I have NO USB devices connected at all to the M6600 yet it can popup the error message about the "unidentified USB ports" many many times during the day, sometimes 3 times a minute just to make you insane.
