video driver failed to initialize

I purchased a refurbished Latitude and could only display in 400x600 mode.  At this setting I was unable to run the programs to connect to my wireless network.  Tried to change the settings and now I can not even logon. The computer loads Windows 2000 then a DOS screen appears that states "Video driver failed to initialize. Beginning dump of physical memory..."  After that it reboots and I get caught in a loop.  I have tried starting up with the bootable disk sent with the computer but I get the same thing. I have also tried entering setup during the boot process, but have not been able to figure out how to get around this video driver problem.  I would greatly appreciate any thoughts.

Try booting into SAFE mode and get the driver updated that way....

Press F8 when Windows first starts to boot up to get into SAFE mode.

Physical memory indicates there is something wrong with either the memory(do not really think so, but try), or with your OS image. A little drastic to reload machine, but it might be your only solution since you cannot boot to safe mode effectively.

I did end up having to reload the OS and that finally fixed the problem.   Fortunately, it was a new computer to me, so I had not laoded much on yet. Thanks for your help.
