Virtual Memory Too Low??

Hi I hope someone can help.

I keep getting a pop up that says my virtual memory is too low, I tried raising the low end like someone suggested but it is still happening, I also did a diagnostic test and found that my hard drive failed the test.  My question is.... Can I fix it by downloading something off of the Dell website?  I don't know too much about Computers as you can tell.  I took off everything that I wanted to save so my computer is just about empty of everything. Of course the internet is still on, Microsoft word, excel etc is still there and the virus programs but other than that... bare bones.

You help is greatly appreciated.

You can attempt to fix the hard drive. Right clicl on the C: drive icon, select properties, then the Tool tab. Click on Disk Check and set both options, then click on Check Now. The computer will shut down and do the check and attempt repairs. If you have non-fixable errors, you probably need to repalce the drive. If errors can be fixed, go to the virtual emmory page and set for no virtual mnemory, then reset for virtual, but set both the minimum and maximum to the same value - 2 to 4GB. This fixes the virtual memory to the same spot on the hard drive for improved efficiency.
