Vista Missing driver - D810 'PCI Simple Communications Controller'

Question

Windows Vista Device Manager is showing the it can not find a driver for 'PCI Simple Communication Controller', I do think that this is the PC-Card Controller driver.   Anyone know where I can find a driver?   I hope that this information can help. Sounds more like a missing modem driver.

Hi, I had the same problem, and it was not related to the modem, but to the smart card reader. To be sure of that verify in your Device Manager if the 'Texas Instruments PCI GemCore...' is here, if not maybe you can solve in this way (I found no Dell driver for that): Download this driver http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&prodTypeId=0&prodSeriesId=3200070&swItem=ob-47670-1&mode=4&idx=0   Unzip it in some directory, but don't install it (It's not a Dell driver, better to use just the inf file). From the Device manager open the properties of the unknown 'PCI communication... 'and select update driver from disk. Point it to the folder where you unzipped the previous file and let it go.
