Vostro 1720 USB issues
Hi,
I have been experiencing problems with my USB ports recently. (Vostro 1720 laptop, windows 7 32bit)
My 6 month old laptop now does not recognise USB flash drives, and some divices.
My phone is no longer recognised.
Device that are recognised are not on USB2 and i get the message "This device could perform fast"
The integrated webcam does not work, windows is aware that it is there but i only ever see a black black video feed.
I have reinstalled drivers, updated everything and removed all power (including removing the battery) from the machine, but to no avail.
Does anyone know now I can get my Laptop so work again???
Many thanks in advance.
Vert
UPDATE : Working USB devices - Logitec QuickCam Pro 9000 webcam, HTC HT2 as modem or for active sync but fails as a USB flash drive.
UPDATE : Dell diagnostic comes up with a fail on DST for drive 0 error code 2000-0142, status 78. 6 months old and need new HDD!!! :emotion-6:

Considering that this is such a common fault, judging by the number os post on the forum, I an suprised that no one know the answer. Not even Dell.
Is Dell tech support as flakey as it appears to by?
