Webcam not working.
I am having trouble with my Dell Webcam Central Integrated Webcam. A few weeks ago it stopped working, whenever I turned it on, it would open but the light next to the webcam would flicker and the camera would work for a second or two. Then it would stop working and there would be the message "Please plug in a supported device."
I tried a system restore to a point when the camera worked, but it didn't solve the problem.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the software and the driver (twice) and it didn't work and it used up two of my driver downloads and I would rather not use the last download.
I tried to plug something into the USB port, both before and after I turned on the webcam, since a number of visitors suggested this worked for them.
One really odd fix was turning on the webcam on while holding my thumb next to the camera and this worked for a few weeks. But now that doesn't work either.
I have tried the hardware and deviced troubleshooter and nothing was detected.
Are there any suggestions for what I can try next?
I have Dell Inspiron 14R N4010, x64-bit Windows 7

Did you recently install/reinstall the opertaing system? If yes, did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
