Why does online support chat NEVER work anymore?

I used to use online chat all the time (I prefer it to waiting on the phone all day), but lately, it hasn't worked with two of my systems, which are both still well under warranty.  Anybody else having this problem?  It seems Dell is making it harder and harder to contact them for support.

i agree with you COMPLETLY. it is easier for me to get online and chat rather than chat on the phone. My grandson lives with me and is very noisy and it is easier to hear a message [if u get that] than hear over him on the phone! and much less frustrating.

It does seem like they are making it alot harder for their own 'raved about' support.

Also, They work around everything and it makes me so mad, I paid for next day shipping and now im paying 30 bucks for 5 days shipping because they decided to ship 2 days after my payment was verified. yet i cannot reach anyone for a shipment refund. i dont want to pay 30 bucks for a 8 dollar shipping cost on sale for free!

Where is "Online Chat" even located????  I too enjoyed doing online vs. phone also because it was easier to understand things.  The thing that really irritates me is that you can now have US support by paying a set amount for US support. . . . even if you LIVE in the US.  Now I think that is so TOTALLY insane and frustrating.  But who am I???
