For further help please post your system model, with Windows version.Example Inspiron N5110 with Windows 7 32 bit.
Have you tried Fn + F2 or just F2 key to switch on WiFi? If wireless status shows connected and if you're not able to access internet, check if your system has McAfee antivirus software. If you've McAfee antivirus software, you may need to uninstall and reinstall that software.
If you don't have McAfee check with internet service provider and make sure there is no issue with the internet service.Once you confirm that boot your system to Safe Mode with networking (tap F8 on start up,Dell Logo).Check if internet works when the system is in Safe Mode with Networking.
