Windows 7 issues
OS won't boot and cannot restore - Get error code 0x80070002
Don't know what happened but all of a sudden my computer won't start up my Windows 7 Home Premium. I have ran the diagnostic through my BIOS and keep getting the error code 0x80070002.
I have tried F8 for a system restore but hitting F8 does not take me anywhere and is just a blank screen. (this option has worked in the past). I have also tried using my Dell System restore discs but is says i do not have enough disc space (even though after formatting it shows 283 gig free). I have tried reinstalling Windows but does not go any further than copying windows files (0%). It then comes up with an error message of error code 0x80070057.

Hi Cricketts,
Please try reseating the RAM and the hard drive. Also try running the built in Diagnostics again and check if it reports any Hardware issues.
Kindly find the steps below to perform the H/W diagnostics.
Turn the computer off >restart the computer
At the Dell logo screen, start tapping the F12 key a few times until you see the ‘One Time Boot Menu’ appear.
At the one time boot menu, press the down arrow key to highlight ‘Diagnostic’, and then press Enter to begin the PSA diagnostics.
If the test fails, please make a note of any error codes listed. You can also refer to the link below.
