XPS 9550 screen flicker when waking up

In the last two or three days whenever I turn my laptop on or wake it up from sleep mode the screen flickers black or white for one second for a time. This only happens for 15 seconds or so but I occasionally get an error message informing me that I have to restart. I have not updated the laptop in the last few days and all my drivers are up to date.

Here's a video of this happening. After 15 seconds or so it either stops itself or restarts the computer.

I have already disabled panel self-refresh and that did not help.

Just wondering what causes this and if there is a fix for it?

My sis and I both have XPS 15 9550 and we encountered same issue as yours. I solved it by uninstalling one program from Dell itself called "Dell PremierColor." Now both my sis's and mines are working fine. Think it worth a try.

I have the same thing happening to my XPS 9550. I downloaded some updates from Dell yesterday but it did not fix it.

Same issue here.  Updating gpu drivers seemed to fix the BSOD but still getting some flickering.

In the past, many of the issues related to this laptop have been (and are) at least partially caused by PermierColor. It is quite amazing how even tech support recommends uninstalling it, even though it is the thing which enables the color calibrated display modes which this laptop for a big part was marketed for ...

Worth nothing that this issue only started occurring as severely with the latest BIOS and video driver updates. In the past they have released updates which in fact made issues worse (just scroll up in this thread), so would not be surprised the same happened again now. But even with the older BIOS/video drivers my colors were still messed up when returning out of sleep mode (too much blue, banding in dark areas). The fix for me was to temporarily move the gamut slider in the HD graphics settings, after which you can see a change happening and everything looks more natural again.
