XPS M1530 best cpu upgrade possible

Hi everybody....

I am an owner of a XPS M1530, is a good laptop but i am definily tired of it's extremply slow processor, i currently have an Intel T7250 processor which runs @ 2.0 GHz on it ... the problem is most games today are just poorly ported from console, so they need a huge processor speed to run smootly (for example Silen Hill Homecoming).. in this case overclocking GPU doesn't really help in more than 2 fps, in games which are made for PC like crysis or HL2 you can see a big increase in fps overclocking the GPU....

The thing is a have 2 doubts to proceed to buy a cpu, the first one... acording to CPU Z the chipset of my laptop is:

Mobile Intel PM965 Express Chipset

But if you see the supported cpu's list, the T7250 isn't there.... so thats make think that my real chipset is:

Mobile Intel GME965 Express Chipset

This one supports the T7250 processor.

Anyway boths chipsets supports similars hi-end laptop processors, so my big question is, which is the topest processor that can i get???  i am pretty interesting about a:

Core 2 Extreme X7900 @2.8 GHz which is about ~$260 - $300 new on Ebay

or it is physically impossible to do that? i meant becauses temperature problems or my biggest fear UNSUPPORTED cpu in the BIOS......  or should i not to take any risk and just bought a bored:

Core 2 Duo T9500 @2.6 GHz  wich is about ~$230-$280 new on Ebay

Anyway both cpu are almost the same price but i think the Core 2 Extreme is a way lot better than the Core 2 Duo.. what do you think guys? ah and does anyone know wich is the list of supported processors by the BIOS for the A12 rev. of XPS M1530?? i dont wanna get a blue screen of death... =S

Thaks for helping.
