Yellowish blur on screen
Hi,
I have a Dell Inspirion 15 5000 Series (5547) and few weeks ago I started to see an yellowish blur on the screen (it is easier to see on a white backgroung), around 10 cm either from top edge and right egde.
This problem is intermittent, sometimes I do not even notice the blur and sometimes it becomes clearly visible and intense. After noticing the recurrence more often I noticed the same kind of problem in the bottom edge.
I bought this laptop in a Dell reseller, is still under warranty and I went to the reseller to ask about the problem (for the Dell informed me that to be under warranty only the reseller will treat this matter), the attendant told me this It appears to be pressure point when I showed the first blur, I argued showing the blurs on the bottom edge and he said it would be best to send to maintenance (not sure if Dell or reseller). I barely use the touchscreen of this laptop, and I did a test on the left side of the screen, putting a bit of pressure on it and nothing happened.
I didn't leave the laptop there yet because they ask for 100 dolars to do a backup of my data, so I'm doing the backup first, however I would like to know about the matter from people who know more than me before deliver my laptop there.
Attached a file with images.
Grateful,
Marcelo

It's difficult to tell from the images what the issue is with the screen. As specialists in LCD replacement we have seen issues like this many times before. This doesn't look like a pressure mark as they are usually not extended in the way this is. It could be a simple as a loose screen connector but it does appear to be a fault on the screen itself and may be covered under your warranty with the supplier. Hope that's of some help

Hi Marcelo,
We will have to perform the ‘LCD BIST’ (Built in Self-test) on the computer. Please follow the steps mentioned below to run the “LCD BIST’.
In addition, please connect the system to an external monitor and check if the issue reoccurs.

Hi Ravi,
I did the LCD BIST and in a white background I could see the blurs, also I have a projector and I usually use the laptop connected to the projector to watch videos and when I do that the projected screen doesn't show yellowish blurs.
Grateful,
Marcelo
