yet another driver install question

greetings.. yes..i tried the search but nothing specific to my problem came up

new Inspiron 1501..reinstalled XP home (Fdisk/reformat etc)

that went well.. but upon using the resource driver disk from dell..
that starts and lists all my needed drivers..many of them have a check mark
beside them.

i click on one..it says to click extract and it will then automatically
run...but nothing happens

i click extract..a dos box flashes on the screen for a second and nothing
starts..

what am i missing here? isnt there a install all button .

Hi,

You only need to install the drivers with the tick. The others are not needed, for example there may be 3 different modems that can be fitted, but only one will. If a device is not there, the driver may not install.

Hi,

There is an order to install drivers, have a look at the reload guide. Some drivers dont install the way others do. There are notes that may come up in another window when trying. I hope this helps, I am trying to point you in the right direction rather than be a how to guide.
