Wired-DK,

If you have the issue, and you are under warranty, get it exchanged.

oHzEEnYc, Please keep us posted, I been following this thread closely. I will be contacting Dell as soon as I get a chance, just too busy but almost in a 2 week vacation this month. My son and daughter as well as myself all excited about Bethesda latest expansion to Oblivion "Shivering Isles" I sure wanna play it in a nice "no banding" monitor, which is one of the problems with my A03 monitor as well as the 1:1 maping. Appreciate the updates ;)

Banding on A03? If you're using Desktop Mode the banding problems should go away. The Faroudja chip in the 2407WFP which is causing the banding, appears to be disabled when using Desktop Mode. There will probably always be a little bit of *horizontal* banding on these LCD panels. (i.e. horizontal lines) There is slight vertical banding, but it's so minor it's almost unnoticeable. I have two A03 and a two A04 panels, and they all exhibit similar levels of banding. Personally, I think they're a great improvement from the photos I've seen of banding which exists in the A02.

All,

I may it very clear in this post titled Monitor exchanges based on revision numbers in the FAQ that there is only one part number for the monitor. This means, when you initiate an exchange for a defective monitor, there is no way that we can know what revision you will receive.

Also, using character substitution to circumvent our profanity filter will result in your post being deleted.

ooops....my bad for the "character substitution"....i just wish that they can make a "note" when they send out exchanges so that an A04 can be sent out....

ChrisM,

Despite explaining the 1:1 pixel mapping issue to Dell tech support and spending hours on the phone, I've been plainly denied an exchange on the grounds that the issue is not a hardware issue. What is going on at Dell? How come you and the tech support have contradicting comments to make? I'm extremely disappointed right now.

oHzEEnYc, that's exactly what the tech support reps tell me every time I talk to them. So yeah, what is the deal with that? Ugh..

wow..it is 345pm and ive been on the phone with dell for hours...they will not cough up an A04....they are saying im out of the 21 day return period, and under warranty, i can only get a replacement of the same model (A03).....MR. chris m, is there any easier way that I can communicate with these people to get this A04?

oHzEEnYc,

There is no way that they (anyone) can specify what revision you get. All anyone can do is initiate an exchange. That is it. You guys act like we have a warehouse full of A04s and another warehouse full of A03s. We do not. We have one warehouse with 2407s. We do not know what revisions are in there...understand?
