Your question is not dumb but a good question. You can go HERE and download file #1 the latest driver for your graphics adapter to see if will give you the res you need.
Barring that you will need to addin a dedicated graphics card.
If you let us know which version of the GX280 you have as there a few, we can assist you in picking out a graphics card.
Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Downloaded the updated driver but still no 1680 x 1050. To be honest, I am not sure which version of the GX280 it is, purchased refurbished, how do I tell?
OK the good news is you can use full size, half length cards cards. The not so great news is you have only a 210W power supply. which will limit you somewhat.
