1703FP brightness color
Just got the 1703fp about a week ago.
i love the look and the ability to rotate/tilt/turn... great design
It's connected through DVI on a 9800pro, and everything looks sharp running at max resolution.
The thing that's bothering me is the brightness and color. Out of the box, the monitor is really bright. So i turn that down and it looks fine etc.
but you really notice the brightness/color issue while playing games. it's totally different.
i also have a 1900fp sitting side by side it and i can see the difference. the 1703fp with the brightness turn down a bit, just looks dim.. the colors aren't viberant. Even if i put the brightness back up the color just don't look as rich.
Anyone else notice this?
anyone have better setting for the color/brightness? i've been playing with it, with no sucess.
the factory default are 100 for everything... i also tried setting everything to 50 but it's not giving me what i want.

Same video card... i actually switched the the monitors when i got the new machine.
i put the 1703 onto my old machine and 1900 for the new... so i'm pretty sure it's the monitor

I am not real happy with the 1703FP. I have a Viewsonic CRT at work, and it is MUCH sharper and easier on the eyes (less jaggies). I have tried clear type on and off, on is better, but not great. On any white or light screen you can see the grid of black pixals. Type is definitely more pixalated.
I'd be interested in what settings others use... ie: what brightness? I have mine down at 30 and it's still a little bright, but much lower than that starts losing color and contrast (which you can't set). Is the best place to set Gamma within the Adobe Gamma software, or in the "color settings" with the monitor buttons?
