1704FPT - 2. Digital Input- Cannot Display This Mode
Problem: Upon system startup the following error message is displayed:

Cannot Display This Mode
The system then boots up and the monitor DOES work.
Steps taken to resolve error message::
Checked & tightend Digital (blue) cables on both monitor & PCSet resolution to 1280 x1024, Refresh rate 60hzPerformed monitor Self Test Check. - floating screen appeared - monitor passed testUpdated ATI driverSwitched out monitor with another 1704FPT UltraSharp
The error message STILL appears on startup
What is next step to resolve this?

After talking with one of the higher ups on Dell Tech Support, we sort of figured out the problem. The dell flat panel monitors using DVI are made to be displayed in the highest resolution:
1280x1024 with a refresh rate of 60Hz. If you do not run the resolution and refresh rate at these settings, the 2: Digital Input - Cannot Display This Video Mode message will come up at times.
I personally gave up with DVI and switched over to Analog. Analog will let me run whatever resolution I want. Hope this helps everyone.

I am also using the analog (VGA) cable for now.
I am hoping that the DVI issues will eventually get worked out with a software fix.
