1707FP aspect ratio

okay, standardly, a non-widescreen moniter is supposed to be 4:3 aspect ratio right? so why is the native resolution of the 1707FP 1280x1024? that resolution is not 4:3!! is the monitor some kind of 3.?:3 ratio istead of 4:3? i hope so because i extremely hate having the wrong aspect ratio for anything and i dont want videos/games/etc ever being stretched in any direction. i wanna run the monitor in the native resolution since moniters look their best at native but not if the aspect ratio is all wrong!

Hi,
Have a look at aspect ratios here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_common_resolutions

Basically, 17" & 19" are 5:4, 20" is 4:3, widescreen monitors are 16:10, widescreen TV is 16:9.
