1800FP startup problems

Hi,

My Dell 1800FP monitor starts to have some startup problems since last week. If I start my computer and power up my monitor my monitor seems to stay in power save mode. Sometimes you can't even power off the monitor and sometimes you can't put it on.
It seems that the buttons don't respond.
Mostly it helps to unplug the monitor and plug it in again and then wait for a minute and the screen will apear.
Somebody got the same problems?

My monitor is from October 2003.

rayzz,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

You can try using the OSD controls to reset the monitor to factory conditions. The problem could very well be the video card causing this to happen. Click the link below to view the online manual for resetting the monitor.

Hi Jesse,

Thanks for your reply. I've tried that already.

The problem is also that the monitor doesn't respond to any button most of the time. Sometimes after a long time waiting the monitor starts to work. If this happens everything works perfectly.

But most of the time when I want to start the monitor it just turns on the led and that's it. It won't go off any more and no screen appears and the monitor just doesn't respond to any button pressed.

rayzz,

It could be defective. If you are still under warranty contact Dell and have it replaced.
