1905FP: can't access OSD via +, -

I have a new 1905FP which arrived yesterday.  I hooked it up, installed the driver, etc.  I'd like to adjust the brightness (it's a bit too washed out), but when I push the menu button to make the OSD appear, the menu doesn't respond to my keyboard.

I've tried using two different keyboards and nothing will let me jump between menu options.  I've tried both + and - with num lock on and num lock off.  I've tried using the + and - controls available on the main keypad.  I've tried the arrow keys and every other key on the board and nothing happens.  The OSD sits on my screen for about 10 seconds then disappears because it isn't receiving any further instructions.

The OSD definitely isn't locked -- the "unlocked" icon is visible if I hold down the menu button.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?  I know my keyboard is working fine, as I can type + and - in Notepad from the numerical keypad.

Use the +/- buttons which are located to the right of the menu button. I hope you figured out by now that onscreen controls means that you control it with buttons located on the monitor and not on the keybard.

Well, colour me embarrassed -- I honestly didn't know there was a + or - on the monitor itself.  I couldn't see them (bad lighting), and only noticed that the buttons had little graphics to adjust the horizonal and vertical displays.  The instruction sheet which comes with the monitor doesn't call the buttons + and -... it calls them "Video Input Select/Down" and "Auto-Adjust/Up".  So, I couldn't see the forest for the trees.  Man, I searched through these forums and was trying all kinds of stuff, too.

So, duh :smileyvery-happy:
