1905fp drivers for non Dell system

Just received my 1905fp and found no drivers on cd. My computer is not a Dell, and the monitor is shown only as a plug and play monitor. Is there a 1905fp driver for a non Dell system?

The drivers are on the CD..just not obvious. If you have a look at the folders on the CD in Windows Explorer, you'll find the drivers in the appropriate folder for your operating system. Once located, you can load them from Device Manager after choosing the Monitor icon and selecting "update driver". Choose to update from "specific location" and re-locate the drivers in Windows Explorer.

thanks, but I've searched and explored all folders on the cd, and I'm certain the drivers are not there. I'm referencing the cd that comes with the monitor. Are you talking about a Dell system cd?

On the CD label you should see under *contents*, "Drivers (INF, ICM and CAT files). You can see these files in Windows Explorer. When you go to update drivers in Device Manager for the monitor, you select the location of the CD; F:\ for example (insert your own drive letter). The files are located in the root drive directory, so you shouldn't have to insert any more information than that. Click next and the update process should proceed to install the drivers.

The only CD that came with the monitor is a "User Documentation" CD. No driver CD came with the monitor. At least not with mine.

My CD does not have the driver either. You can get it here:

Thanks. I found this about 15 minutes of searching around the site. However, it didn't help improve any resolution. I'm still very disappointed how "chunky" this monitor looks in comparison to my dead P991 CRT. It appears at any resolution under the 1280x1024 that fonts and everything is "downconverted" and looks blurry or chunky. Gives me a headache. And when I set it to 1280x1024 everything is so small that my eyes have to strain to see anything. Then more headaches. Maybe LCD technology isn't for me. I wish it ran in 1024 natively.

I have the 2001FP at work and it is excellent.  The native resolution is 1600x1200 but I run it at 1152x864 and it there is absolutely no bluring of the text.  I was hoping the 1905FP would do just as well at 1024x768, but it's not acceptable.  I have to run at 1280x1024 and reading USA today online is killing me.  Now I wish I had gone for the 2001FP at home but don't know if I want to exchange because the 1905 is sweet as long as you run at 1280x1024.  Plus, games look great on the 1905 even at 1024x768.

fontcow,

I changed my DPI setting to 150% in Display Properties and things are looking much better at 1280x1024.
