Isn't that what one of the buttons on the front is for? It is on my 17". Check the manual.

Found the manual. The input 1 display with the colors is what I get. I have the right resolution on my laptop, but acourding to the documentation the monitor is not getting the signal. think its because i left the dvi plugged in?

No, I'm pretty sure you can switch without unplugging - that's why you have a switch on the front to select the input rather than auto-sensing. My Dell 1702FP monitor works that way. Are you sure that the BIOS on your laptop is actually configured to drive the external video?

Incidentally, the input select button looks like the second button marked -.

I dont have a 1, 2 button if that is what you mean. When I click the far left button. the display reports "input 2", but doesnt switch anything.

Tossed the manual, and am having trouble finding the online manual. Thanks for responding.

I'll try the second button with the minus sign to switch input. Thanks. after you said that I checkd the online doc again and it is labeled input select.

I use an external Viewsonic at work so I know the external monitor option works, but good idea.
