1905FP - What Revision with Backlight Problems?

Hi all,

For anyone who has experienced backlight issues with this panel, just wondering if it is a common revision code. I just got one and have the same problem and I intend to request a replacement. The revision is A00. Does anyone have a good monitor with this revision code (found on the back of the panel)?

steve-

I have a 1905 FP, revision AOO,  that I just received last night and spent most of the morning playing around with it.  Everything apprears to be okay, no pixel spots and no white edges however I am not too familar with this type of monitor and do not know what a backlight issue may be, please explain.  Incidently, couldn't help but notice the "made in china" on the revision sticker.

Most computer parts are made in China or Taiwan. That's not a problem if there is good quality control. I don't have any problem with the overall quality of the monitor at it's price-point.

I have one dead pixel in mine, which while annoying is not a big issue. However, I'm not impressed by the backlight leakage. This presents itself as areas on the screen that can appear much lighter than the rest of the screen. It is best determined on an all-black screen background in a dark room. My screen has lighter parts in a couple of corners and along one side, plus a bit in the middle.

I guess that I am one of the lucky ones, mine looks good in all areas-now if it will just stay that way.  I wish you the best of luck with yours.

Hi Stevez2

I have a Dell Ultrasharp 1905FP monitor with REV A00. I have had this 19inch monitor for a month and had no problems with it.
I read you are wanting to replace your 1905FP monitor and have one dead pixel and light leakage. Dell do have 21 DAY return period and you can ask for a replacement.
there is a web forum you can go and read people who have written their experiances about Dell's monitors www.hardforum.com, it mostly with dell 20inch monitors (2001FP &
2005FPW) just look around. Ho' the REV A00 are on the Dell 20inch monitors, few people
have notice this and written this in the forum

The 1905FP monitor is made by Lite-On Technology corperation, they also make their own monitors.

I wish you the best when you get your new replacement monitor.
