I have what appears to be the exact same issue -- just got an XPS400 w/ 1907FP. Finally got the DVI working, but it intermittently goes blank; sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes until I jiggle the cable. I'm thinking therefore it
might be the video card, but don't really know. The VGA out works fine, which is what I've switched to for the time being until I get a chance to sort things out. Anyone else have this issue / been able to resolve it?
Im having the same problem with my 1905fp, its about a year old and just recently when using dvi it will start flashing and I will even see staticy text, best explanation I can think off. Ive tried wiggling the cables and that doesnt fix anything, but Im now using vga with a dvi adapter on the video card end. I have recently rma'd my video card thinking that was the problem. I think it was part of it, but the lcd is also having issues on its own.
Turns out it was the DVI cable itself that was causing the screen to flicker off. It was a faulty cable. If there was the -slightest- movement to the broken connector and that end of the cable, it would loose the video connection and make the screen 'flicker' off and on. It got so bad that just sitting completely still it would loose the video connection unless you moved the cable into a new position.
Solution? Talked to a rep online and told em it was the cable. After running tests with em, they agreed with me and sent me a new DVI cable to replace the broken one.

I have not had the problem since.
I hope this helps!
