1907FP VS 2007WFP

Ok the 1907 is currently on special offer in the uk at £228.19 which meand that for £456.37 I could get 2 = 2560x1024

Or I could get the 2007wfp which I prefer at £437.10.

Are there any issues with the 1907 such as banding etc??

Decisions decision I really like the 2007wfp with the extra inputs but not sure if I can ignore the fact that I can get 2 1907s for a very similar price.

Opinion would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Scott

What kind of stuff do you do with your computer. Some things work really well with a dual monitor set up, while others (like gaming) sometimes don't. I'm not very experienced with dual monitor set-ups, but as long as they are the same size monitors I think they work well. I currently own a 2007WFP.

skotbites,
One thing to consider is the native resolutions. You mind find this monitor size comparison useful. You can see that although the 19" is taller than the 20" widescreen, they have about the same number of pixels vertically.

At the moment it's mainly surfing, e-mail, the odd bit of photo editing and watching films, however I do hope to get back into the gaming side of thing when I upgrade my pc (currently xp2000, 512ram and radeon 8500).

I'll probably end up with the widescreen display but I'm trying to justify to myself when I could get more screen area (and possibly less banding etc) with the 2 monitors.

With regards to the resolutions, the 2 19inchers are 26pixels shorter but 880pixels wider, but then they'll also be the bezel down the middle.

May have to invest in a bigger desk too!!!!

What kind of screen do you have now? I had an old Dell 15-Inch before I got the 2007WFP and I use the 15-inch as an extended desktop monitor. I often pull iTunes or a Website over to the 15-inch monitor while I watch a movie or play a game on the 2007WFP. It does, however, look weird having a 15-inch next to a 20-inch so I might not keep it that way.

I noticed that you talked about the composite/s-video ports as being a buying point on the 2007WFP. I personally like using those inputs, but there are many downsides to them too. You have to sit back from the monitor when you watch a movie over composite/s-video inputs, as if you were watching a TV, otherwise it looks a bit grainy. Also, the monitor stretches 16:9 video to fit 16:10. It doesn't really bother me as those aspect ratios are so close to eachother, but it does bother some people.

The main reason I picked the 2007WFP is I plan to connect it to a laptop, which only has one external monitor port, so it would have been pointless for me to go with a dual monitor solution. I think that dual monitors would be good for everything but movie and gaming. To do both movies and gaming you'd probably have to disable or not use one of the two monitors. Then again, one 19-inch monitor is big enough to play games or watch movies.

Personally, I think it's really a toss up. I really like my 2007WFP, but I think you'd have a lot more space with dual 19-inch screens. If I wasn't getting a laptop, I might have gotten the dual monitor configuration.

I hope some of this helped.

Cheers mate, I've currently got a mitsubishi diamond pro 17inch crt but it;s casing is cracked and is on its last legs, I think I could just about fir the 2 19's on my desk.

I'd hope to use the extra inputs on the 2007 for my ps2 when the ps3 comes out as will move the ps2 upstairs to my room and hook the ps3 up to my 36" toshiba picture frame tv which isn't HD but the picture is superb and I do the majority of my console gaming in the living room.

I'd love a 2407 for my room but I don't have the space or the money and after looking at the posts on here there seems to be many issues with the extra inputs.

Maybe I'll hold out for a sale in the uk on the 2007 & 2407 and see which I can afford then.  It's about time the UK got a deal on these monitors as we have to pay more over the standard US price anyway and then it's like kicking sand in our faces with all the sales they have over there!!!

OR I could get the 2 x 19s now on offer and then get a 2007 when they eventually go on offer, yeah I wish, would have to upgrade my desk, my pc and quite possible the missus to get away with that!!!!
