1908WFP not using proper resolution

Question

Hey all,   I have a Latitude D820 on a docking station with a 1908WFP as a dual screen connected via DVI. In my display properties, it shows the monitor is at 1440x900, but when using the OSD of the monitor, it shows 1280x1024. I know this to be true as the resolution looks somewhat poort, and the screen does not fit. No matter what resolution I change it to in my display properties, it does not take. It looks to change momentarily, but then reverts back to 1280x1024 ... which I don't know how it's possible to do 1024 on this screen, but that's what it says it's doing.   I've updated the monitor driver to no avail. I've also updated to the most recent display driver I could find for this laptop (through DELL's site, not nvidia) - the Nvidia Quadro NVS 110M.   Not sure if this is a limitation of the video card or something wrong with the monitor. I seem to find numerous posts about how this laptop can run 1600+ resolutions so I doubt it's the video card. I can run the E198FP monitor as a dual screen in max resolution without issue (it's max is only 1280x1024 though). I have exactly the same problem (same laptop, docking station, and same monitor), so i'd love to know if you've found a solution.

I doubt the issue is the monitor. Remove the dock from the troubleshooting equation. Connect the monitor directly to the laptop VGA. Set the monitor resolution to 1440x900. Restart the PC several times. Does the 1440x900 resolution stay?
