2001fp black level and pixel problems
I recently received a 2001fp replacement monitor to replace a newly purchased one. The first one had some very noticable green stuck pixels in the lower middle of the screen.
The new monitor has a few stuck pixels along the center ( 1 blue and 1 red in the center, and 1 green off to the left) but they are not that noticable. The thing that bugs me is the black levels. When the monitor is powered on, or when watching DVDs the black portions of the screen have a "glow", it is very apparent on the corners of the monitor. Even games that have dark indoor areas have a gray look, not black at all. The first monitor had excellent black levels. I have tried adjusting the color levels and the brightness.
Should I have it replaced. I am also concerned I may have got a refurb and the backlighting has been cranked up on purpose. Since this is the second monitor I hate to go through the process again. Are all the 2001fp like this?

This isn't the light in the upper left corner. I think most of the 2001fp have that and the first one I had did. This is a "white glow" all over the monitor, most apparent at the edges. Like the seating of the backlight or the monitor is not correct.
normal windows is fine, its when you have anything with black like dvd and games is when you see it, or just when turn on the monitor. I have tried adjusting the back lighting and color settings with no luck.
I don't want to make a gamble with another monitor (and Dell should make me have to gamble!). I am reading its hit or miss with these monitior right now. Maybe it is a bad run. The 2001fp gets realy good reviews.
