My 2001FP monitor has been working fine for the 5 months I had it. Now it's started having a problem with certain colors. It's evident in gradients, where instead of a smooth transition from one color to another, little vertical stripes appear at different places in the gradient. These stripes are magenta. Some colors are displaying incorrectly, like the side bars of this page. Underneath where it says 'my forum' the background should be a solid color but instead it shows vertical stripes one pixel in width. The color problems begin when the monitor has been on for a while (maybe 1 hour) and if I turn it off the problem goes away, again for a while only. It seems like it could be heat related, but I have no idea. The color problem is present in the monitor's self test mode as well, where the 'white' area shows up with the same vertical bands. I bought this monitor directly from Dell, but not as part of a system, and so I have no service tag. I have a customer number and an order number, but the website can't find them.
