FWIW, after leaving the system on overnight it crashed again. I have since disconnected the DVI-D cable and reconnected to the 9600XT card with the standard 15pin D-Sub cable and it's run at least 3 hours without it crashing.

This is frustrating because I bought this monitor and upgraded the card to specifically connect it digitally rather than analog.

Update to my update: After having used the card via 15pin for a few hours it crashed - so I'm guessing it's the card. When I had the 9600 Pro AIW connected for at least 72 hours it never crashed.

This is maddening because the crashing causes XP to run scan disk when it reboots, it finds cross linked files and creates FOUND.000 subs in the root. Also if Outlook is open when the computer crashes it scrambles the outook.pst file and I have to fix it with Scanpst.exe. IOW, it's a royal Pain In the A**
