2005FPW Backlight Issue and Returns - Do we keep or start return process??
I have purchased 3 of the 2005FPW's. 2 Have the Backlight issue and the other one is not that bad and exceptable for the person who has it. My question is this Jesse had stated Dell is aware of this issue but are we to hold onto the units we currently have or start the return process. I don't want to start getting referb units if I wait too long and the clock is ticking. I like many of you purchased these units with coupons and I dont want to repurchase at a high price later. Some input please I need to call in the next day or so it I am going the return route. Jesse I was waiting to get all the units in before sending you the Serial Numbers I will send them to you tonight.
Thanks,

Peterson,
This is what Jesse said in my post...I believe he means for us to wait until they diagnose the issue.
mackie1604,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Yes, we are working on resolving the backlight issue with the 2005fp monitors. I will let the forum members know what to do once I get some information from our engineers.

However, time is running out real fast for a lot of you. There are many coupon promotions in the near future if that is what you are concerned with, but the monitor issue will not be addressed that soon, and your 21 day return policy period will end. It's up to you what you decide, but its my experience that Dell takes a long time to come out with an answer and who knows what that will be. A new monitor or a gift, another coupon or perhaps nothing at all. I am not in the same boat as you, but I would be so mad as to send the darn thing back and not purchase anything until Dell fixes the monitor. If no one purchases the monitor, Dell will get off there real ends and do something real fast. If people continue to purchase the item, than Dell can wait and wait and wait...Get the point ?

Well I couldn't wait to hear what Dell is going to do with only a day left on my 21 day return period so I had to call into tech support. If it helps at all here are my serial numbers and manufacture dates:
MX 0T6130-48323-4BH-3GHL Rev A00 Nov 2004 in Mexico
MX 0T6130-48323-4C8-1B9L Rev A00 Dec 2004 in Mexico
After 2 hours call and wait time the tech needs me to be at the monitors. Out of 3 units 2 are bad I explain the issue to the guy, switched between systems, on and off, reset, brightness up and down, and there are no error messages. GOD ok now I know how I will be spending my night......
Will update later....
