2005FPW DVI does not work

Question

Well, I can't get it to work.  I just got the 2005FPW in yesterday and have been trying to connect to my DVI connector on my video card.  The card is an ASUS V9570, which is the GeForceFX 5700 chip with 256 MB on-board.  There is a VGA(D-Sub) connector, S-Video and a DVI-I connector on the card.  I installed the latest nVidia drivers.  I can hook up the VGA cable to the monitor and it works, but if I use the DVI cable that came with the monitor, I get no video signal to the monitor (it goes into sleep mode during the PC's boot sequence)   I do get the self-test box floating if the DVI cable is plugged into the monitor but not in the video card. I had the same problem, if you set the 5700 to 1680x1050 and try and use the DVI it didn't work.  I could get the DVI to work in 1024x768, but you have to disconnect the vga (not just switch to dvi) and reboot.  The monitor will come on after windows boots the first time.  It seems that either windows or the card has to detect the monitor on the DVI connector and turn it on.  Then I had problems with the monitor unable to display modes that Dell listed on their website as compatible, but only when I was using the DVI.  So I sent the 5700 back and am waiting for a 6800GT.  =]

Thanks. Yea, I decided to try the monitor on my system (a 6800GT) and it worked just fine. I ordered a new video card for my mother-in-law. I didn't want to put this monitor on my system, cause now I have to get one for me .
