2005FPW resolution issue

just got a 2005FPW monitor and i can't get the proper resolution to make the screen "look right" (every resolution is stretched).  it appears i need the 1600X1050 resolution setting, and i will need to update my driver.  does anyone know what driver that would be?  the intel website has updated drivers for my card (intel 82865G graphics controller) but doesn't say whether this would be correct for my new monitor.   my system is optiplex gx270.

thanks

You don't match a video driver to the monitor you want to use.  Install the latest video driver, if your video card is capable of producing that output resolution you're in business.  If not, different drivers won't resolve the issue, only a different video card will.

I have the same XPS600 except the gaming mouse and joystick.  The resolution does not look true 1920x1600.  I play World Of Warcraft and the 1650x1200 looks the same as 1920x1600.  It is really big.  I am not too happy with the resolution of this monitor.  I had the 2005FPW at first and Dell traded me for the 2405FPW and I have the same problem.  Resolution isn't true.  Now I need to trade again.  The video is suppose to be supported on the 2405FPW

with the 2405FPW I have 1920x1200 then the next is 1600x1200.

In the Game I have 1920x1200 Wide and 1600x1080 wide but they look the same in Workld Of Warcraft.

Wyvren, I'm confused,  The two resolutions you listed are not widescreen resolutions.  Not sure what you're shooting for here.

Do you not have selections in World of Warcraft for 1920x1200 and 1680x1050?  Do you have those resolutions available for Windows desktop resolution?

They would look basically the same on that monitor.  What were you expecting to see?  Also, what video card do you have, you may be able to create a custom resolution for 1680x1050 which is true 16x10 for that monitor.
