2005wfp calibration
Hi.
When I try to run adobe elements I get this message:
The monitor profile "Dell 2005FPW Color Profile" appears to be defective. Please rerun monitor calibration software.
I can't find this software on my system, can anyone tell me how to calibrate this monitor please?
Thanks.
Mike.

I bought the monitor from Dell earlier this year, but I don't seem to have received any disc, didn't know it came with one.
I shall try your advice and see what happens.
Thanks.
Mike.

No problem.
I can't seem to locate the utilities thing on the support site. Do you happen to know where it is or have a link please.
Mike.

I've downloaded the driver and over-written the one I had which was the same, but I still can't callibrate my monitor. Do you think this is a problem with my monitor itself? Is there any special controls etc I should do with it to make it callibrate?

If you create a profile in a third-party monitor calibration utility, Adobe recommends that you load that profile in Adobe Gamma:
1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2. Double-click Adobe Gamma.
3. Select Control Panel, and then click Next.
4. Click Load to the right of the Description text-box.
5. Navigate to the folder that contains the profile you want to load:
-- Windows/System/Color (Windows Me and 98)
-- Windows/system32/spool/drivers/color (Windows XP)
-- Winnt/system32/spool/drivers/color
6. Select the profile created by your third-party monitor calibration utility, and click Open.
7. Click OK in Adobe Gamma.
8. Click Save when the message, "Save changes to the profile [profile nam e.icm] before closing?" appears. After you close Adobe Gamma and click Save, the profile * will be available to Photoshop.
However, Adobe (and Dell) recommends not to use Adobe Gamma on LCDs. You can follow the insructions on the link above to remove it. Is Adobe Gamma Loader in your Startup folder?

This is where I am at the moment:
I have chosen a new color profile from the advanced tab, the one I have now is 2005FPW (Dell), so I have chosen instead AdobeRGB1998.icc
When I now open Elements 5.0, the message no longer appears so I guess that must be a fix.
Here are my present settings:
Display: Dell 2005FPW (Analog) on Tul Corporation, RADEON 9200SE
Resolution: 1680 x 1050
Color Quality: Highest (32 bit) True Color 60 Hertz
Color Profile: AdobeRGB1998
Thanks for your help.

adobe rgb is a color space and not a monitor profile.

The reality of this then is that I need to purchase a calibrating tool. Which do I go for, the Spyder2 or Huey or other make?
Any advice to look out for etc most welcome.
